Rory Innes, CEO and Founder

Rory Innes, CEO and Founder

Rory has spent his whole career in cybersecurity and has worked for leading global cybersecurity companies in a range of senior management positions. As The Cyber Helpline’s CEO, Rory is responsible for the strategic direction, performance and operational effectiveness of The Cyber Helpline. Rory often provides comment & opinion for the press and has appeared on live TV or documentaries providing expert opinion on cybercrime. He also sits on the Mayor of London’s Victim Reference Group.

His areas of expertise include the cybercrime & online harm challenges in the UK, the threat landscape and trends in the UK, the gap in support for victims & how this could be tackled, key threat areas like cyberstalking & online harassment and the role of The Cyber Helpline.

Charlotte Hooper, Head of Operations

Charlotte Hooper, Head of Operations

Charlotte has been a key member of the leadership team since The Cyber Helpline’s inception. She holds a first-class degree in Policing and Criminal Justice and a masters degree in Cybercrime Investigation. Charlotte delivers cybercrime related training sessions around the world for police forces, victim support charities and private organisations.

Her areas of expertise include: cybercrime investigations, cybercrime law enforcement & regulation, open-source intelligence, cyberstalking & online harassment, the cybercrime & online harm threat landscape and the impact of cybercrime on victims.

  • Simon Walls

    Simon has worked in finance and regulation for nearly twenty years, first at the Bank of England, and now at the Financial Conduct Authority. Simon has seen how some of the best Boards in the country manage their businesses and isn't afraid to ask us challenging questions about what we are trying to achieve and in expecting high standards in how we run ourselves.

    Mike Wawro

    Mike is a retired business leader with 30 years of IT experience, half of which was in the field of cybersecurity, marketing and implementing cybersecurity professional services. He is also an accredited Project Manager with wide experience of implementing business-critical transformational projects. Mike is committed to ensuring the continued viability and successful evolution of the charity.

    Stuart Quick

    Stuart has worked in the Security Risk Management and Information Security Industries for over 20 years. He brings a wide range of experience from roles in consulting, project management and senior management positions. He currently works in the Cyber Insurance industry and is a Helpline Responder and Ambassador for The Cyber Helpline.

    Dr Andrew Dell

    Andy has worked for over 30 years in the technology and telecommunications sectors, most recently in Senior Management and Director roles in cyber security at a Big Four consultancy firm. He brings extensive experience in corporate governance, risk management and cyber security operational resilience to his role as trustee at The Cyber Helpline.

    Mary Calam

    Mary has an extensive background in the UK government, notably as Director General for Crime, Policing, and Fire at the Home Office, and has worked in senior roles in agencies like the Independent Police Complaints Commission and the Serious Organised Crime Agency. After leaving the government in 2016, she joined McKinsey & Company, focusing on public sector clients and crisis management. Currently, she is an independent consultant and board adviser in law enforcement and national security.

    Phil Tansley

    Phil is a partner at an international law firm with a particular specialism in cyber and technology issues. He was a pioneer in the field of cyber insurance and brings over 20 years’ experience of advising clients - from company boards to individuals - on legal, regulatory, and governance issues. Phil is ideally placed to use his legal experience to further the aims of the charity.

    David Boda

    David has previously led cybersecurity for the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Camelot Group and currently is Chief Security and Resilience Officer for Nationwide Building Society. Over his 20 year career in security David has helped develop national and international security standards and defined and delivered multiple cybersecurity transformation programmes.

  • Reethi Harish

    Reethi is a Cyber Security professional with over 12 years experience in the industry. Reethi has helped clients with multiple cases involving bribery and corruption, fraud, disputes, litigation, and investigations initiated by regulatory agencies around the world. Reethi's role as an Advisory Board member is to work with the wider team to ensure the overall programme stays on track with its objectives and streamlining the processes to bring out the best of volunteers.

    Daniel Turner

    Dan is a Cyber Security and Cyber Research professional with a career spanning many roles and disciplines, including major breach recovery, digital forensics, strategic management, red team penetration testing, and exploit development. Currently employed as the CISO of a global PLC, Dan undertakes other contractual engagements and personal cyber research tasks in his spare time. Dan attends debate panels and presents on various cyber topics to universities and private organisations across Europe.

    Dr. Emma Short

    Emma is a Chartered Health Psychologist based at London Metropolitan University and has a longstanding interest in cyber psychology. She has worked to represent the impact of technological evolutions within harassment, stalking and fixated abuse since 2005. Emma is committed to improving awareness of all forms of cyber abuse and extending provision for those seeking help.

    Linda Baskett

    Linda has over 20 years' experience in financial crime prevention, detection and investigation. She has worked in several large financial services firms, focusing on both financial crime and data protection/information security. Currently, she holds a senior global position in financial crime prevention. Linda is a frequent speaker at industry events, where she actively promotes best practice in the field of financial crime risk and compliance.

    Tamzin Greenfield

    Tamzin is a young professional representing the future of cyber security and particularly pushing for more accessible entry points into careers in tech. She is a route representative for the Cyber Security Degree Apprenticeship and continues to support the cyber community through organisations such as BSides Cheltenham, the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education, and the International Cyber Expo.

    Patrick Burgess

    Initially hailing from the technical side of IT, Patrick now has significant experience in organisational-level strategy, security, and best practice. Patrick is a member of the Information Security Steering Committee, which helps form BCS policy on cybersecurity for both business and government legislation. A keen member of CompTIA, he also sits on the executive steering committee for their Threat Intelligence sharing platform. Patrick has a good understanding of our users’ needs, having been a Cyber Responder and Case Specialist in the past.

    Alan Coburn

    Alan is an Information Security services professional with more than 15 years of experience in leadership, management, and senior practitioner roles. As an advisor to The Cyber Helpline board of Trustees, he brings a broad range of project and services delivery experience, from working in cybersecurity consulting and managed security services delivery. Alan currently works in business development and cybersecurity services sales.

    Jamie Stone

    Jamie is a start-up entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in advanced cybersecurity. He has worked in several large technology firms, focusing on both cybercrime and data protection. With a senior global position in intelligence led pre-crime prevention, Jamie is a frequent speaker at industry events, where he promotes best practices in the field of cybercrime business risk and compliance. His innovative approaches to crime prevention have earned him a reputation as a thought leader in the industry.

  • David Drylie

    David has 30 years of IT experience working in private banking, in the central technology function of a large UK banking group. He has held both technical and leadership roles throughout his career, looking after a variety of enterprise infrastructure and technology platforms. A professional member of the Chartered Institute for IT, he believes IT is a force for good in society and is passionate about the role of the charity in improving the wellbeing of those targeted by cybercriminals.

    Bruce Keeble

    Bruce Keeble is Cyber Lead at Interpath Advisory. Part of his mission-driven approach is to reduce the financial and human cost of cyber incidents by helping companies to improve their cyber resilience. He has over 20 years of forensic and investigation experience, where he has performed cyber forensic global and cross-border investigations. His experience includes expert witness reporting in civil and criminal cases in all parts of the UK.

    Giles Otomewo

    Giles is a Digital Forensic, Incident Response, and IT Professional with over 20 years of experience. He holds NATO Secret Security Clearance and has previously worked with the City of London Police and Rio Tinto providing Cyber Security consultancy, eDiscovery, Incident Response support, and conducting expert witness defence case analysis. Currently, Giles is a Technical Lead and Senior Engineer for a global cyber security company. He designs and implements enterprise security capabilities, including prevention, detection, and incident response.

    Mark Belgrove

    Mark is a respected security professional with more than 30 years of experience in the IT Security industry and a solid background in delivering security policies, procedures and standards. He has been the Chief Information Security Officer for Yell and several other organisations in different industries, helping them develop their controls and compliance. Mark has served as a Trustee for The Cyber Helpline and was part of the initial team that helped it launch. 

    Paul Baird

    Paul is an IT and cybersecurity professional with over 25 years of industry experience. Currently, he serves as the Chief Technical Security Officer for Qualys. Throughout his career, Paul has been instrumental in building several Security Operations Centres (SOCs). His achievements in the field were recognised in 2021 when he was awarded Fellowship of Chartered Institute of Information Security Professionals (CiiSec) for his outstanding work in supporting cybersecurity.
